Chicken Tahini

The essentials

Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp tamari
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tsp orange juice
  • 1 tsp grated ginger

 Serves 2

Method

Preheat oven to 180°.

Cut the chicken breasts into cubes.

Mix all the sauce ingredients together.

Combine the sauce and the chicken. Place in an oven-proof dish and place in the oven for 20 minutes.

A little bit extra

The tahini gives this dish a lovely, mild nutty flavour which makes it a little different to your standard chicken dish. It really doesn’t take long at all to prepare and was lovely served with potatoes and green beans. So easy that it can be a mid-week meal, or if not use this recipe to change things up for Friday night dinner. Tahini is full of nutritional goodness – it is a great source of fat and iron. It is so versatile – it can be used in dressings and sauces for chicken and salads and is obviously used for humous.
